There are 2 main lesson goals in this 5 chorus Autumn Leaves Comping Package. The first video is a way of showing how you can go from full voicings with bass notes to rootless voicings that are more flexible. This is done gradually and also demonstrates what is possible with the smaller chords. The second video is a 2 chorus demonstration of some of the different devices and chord types I use when comping Autumn Leaves.
The lesson video that analyses the transcription has a focus on several topics listed below. I am also going to discuss some thoughts on when to play a lot and when not to, plus some general thoughts on the role you have when playing behind a soloist. It is afterall important to be aware of when you fill everything up and when you lay back or even stop playing.
