Bebop and Melodic Minor – The Perfect Match

8.00

This lesson will show you how to combine two of my favorite sounds in Jazz: The rich sound of Melodic minor and the ever-surprising flow of Bebop is a great mix, and when it comes to Bebop then the tonic minor sound is usually Melodic minor with the beautiful m6 and mMaj7 chords.

The lesson is built around a medium solo on Bernie’s Tune and some exercises that will help you get the right type of vocabulary into your fingers and ears. You can easily put it to use since you can hear how it is applied and this song is a very solid place to work on this type of material. For the different types of melodic minor used you have some resources to develop that and also give the other common melodic minor modes some Bebop flavor.
