The examples in this video are transcriptions of how I comp on a Blues using only Drop2 voicings. The transcription is in itself a great example, but you can also use it as inspiration for your own comping.
The exercises in this article are covering the basic material that you want to have in your system and use to make music.
When you comp on a blues then you are making melodies with the chords that tell their own stories and complement the soloist, this is what the transcriptions illustrate.
Putting it to use on a Blues in F
All the chord voicings in the world are not worth anything if you can’t put them together in a musical way. Drop 2 voicings are important for almost any type of bop oriented jazz, and also the chords you will find most of the time with Wes Montgomery and George Benson.

Having some good examples of how to use these voicings can save you hours of experimentation or transcribing, and is a solid way to get into this type of playing.
